Authentication

FULL LEGALIZATION PROCESS

The authentication process requires the following procedure:

  1. Notarized document(s).
  2. County Office Certification.
  3. Maryland State Certification.
  4. US Department of State Certification – Fill out the DS-4194 form.
  5. Country Embassy Authentication.

Fee:

  • County fee: $1 per seal – cash only.
  • Maryland State fee: $2 per seal – credit card.
  • US State Department fee: $20 per document – money order (mail) & prepaid return envelope, money order/cash (in-person).
  • Embassy fee: vary according to the embassy and type of document. Please contact the Visa/Passport Office for more information.

Surcharge

  • $65 – For GC/ADRA/ARM employees.
  • $85  – For external personnel.

APOSTILLE

Apostille process requires the following procedure:

  1. Notarized document(s).
  2. County Office Certification.
  3. Maryland State Certification.

Fee:

  • County fee: $1 per seal – cash only.
  • Maryland state fee: $2 per seal – credit card.
  • Contact the Visa office for detail information.
